Glenna W. Overton-Clark
Glenna Overton-Clark is a native of Indiana. After receiving an Honorary Scholarship from Purdue University, she graduated with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, with Minors in Accounting and French.
Glenna established her home in Knoxville in 1977. Upon her arrival to Knoxville, she opened a small business of her own.
In 1989, Glenna enrolled in Law School and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1992. Upon graduation, she began practicing law with an associate. In 2002, Glenna established a solo practice, which continues to this day.
Glenna’s area of concentration has been Land Use and Construction Law, Fraud, Wills and Estates, Business Law, Franchise, and Trademark Law. She has had training to be a Civil Mediator and a Family Law Mediator. The Courts have seen fit to appoint Glenna as a Guardian Ad Litem for the elderly, handicapped and adoptive children. Glenna has also been appointed to represent defendants in Knox County General Sessions Court, criminal division.
Throughout the years, Glenna has had the opportunity to sit as a special judge in Knox County General Sessions Court, civil division. Glenna has rendered opinions in civil matters such as evictions and debt collections.
Glenna is also licensed to practice law in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, Tennessee Court of Appeals and the Tennessee Supreme Court. Due to her clear and concise method of oral argument, Glenna was asked to argue a Court of Appeals case in front of the student body at the University of Tennessee Law School.
Since 2002, Glenna has volunteered at Shangri-la Therapeutic Academy of Riding (STAR). At STAR, Glenna works with riders with special needs in order for the riders to interact with horses. Glenna also assists in the exercising and training of the STAR horses. Glenna enjoys horseback riding, her English Springer Spaniels, and is a Master Gardener.
Glenna Overton is a member, in good standing, of Tennessee Bar Association and Knoxville Bar Association.
