Land Use and Construction Law:
Every new homeowner has rights even if they buy and older home, a home new from the builder or they build a home. The law protects homebuyers who purchase a home from a previous owner by requiring the seller to fill out a Tennessee Property Disclosure Statement. If a buyer buys a home new from the builder, there are certain warranties that come with the new home. There are also certain rights a builder has with respect to building a home either as a spec house or under Contract with a homeowner. And in turn, the homeowner has certain rights with respect to a builder’s Contract.
